Who operates Distill?

Hello, I recently found myself repeatedly browsing various websites in search of new posts, and I heard there was an extension that could do this on my behalf, which is why I decided to install it.
The extension turned out to be even more satisfying than I had expected, and I am considering making a payment for it.
Before doing so, I would like to know how long this company has been operating and how stable its operations appear to be.
Is this a project run by an individual?

@nyankatx3 Thank you for your thoughtful question, and we’re really glad to hear you’ve had a good experience with the extension so far.

Distill is not a one-person hobby project. It is a long-running, professionally developed web monitoring platform that has been operating for many years. The product has been continuously developed and improved since the mid-2010s and is actively maintained today.

Over the years, Distill has grown into a full-featured monitoring platform used by:

  • Individual users tracking job postings, product availability, and content updates

  • Freelancers and researchers monitoring specific site changes

  • Businesses and teams using it for website change detection, uptime checks, and competitive tracking

  • Enterprise customers managing large-scale monitoring setups

Distill supports browser-based monitoring, desktop applications, cloud monitoring, dedicated cloud devices, API access (Enterprise), and multiple notification channels (email, SMS, push, webhooks, etc.). The platform is actively maintained, with regular updates and feature improvements across extensions and backend systems.

We also provide direct support and documentation, and the product is used globally by thousands of users across different industries.

In short:

  • The service has been operating for many years

  • It is actively maintained and developed

  • It is not an individual side project

  • It supports both individuals and enterprise-scale users
