The result is not accurate

I got a notification about the price change, but I checked the website, the price is still the same. How come?

the content captured by distill is from the page that is rendered. there could be many reasons behind why you did not see the price captured in the alert. i am listing some of them:

  1. the price drop happened for a short duration of time.
  2. some pages render an initial price when loading the page that is later updated to the actual price after the page has finished loading. increase monitor’s delay helps in such cases.
  3. the page could show different prices to different user segments.
  4. some sites show price use a currency (e.g. usd/cad) depending on where the page is accessed from. different numerical value can be shown by the page when the same page is accessed from different locations.

are you running these monitors locally or in the cloud? do you recall changing the device from local or cloud or vice-versa?

note that when using local monitoring, your network and as a result the same location is used for checks. for cloud monitors, the default location is the united states.

I appreciate your time to respond, I almost check the price right away once I got email nonfiction, I guess the timing probably is not the issue, however I do run it on the cloud, maybe that is matter, shall I change to run locally, for consistent result which may actually see the changes?

if the local price you see in browser is $1,916 and the one reported by cloud is $1,419, the most likely reason is that you are not in the united states but used local and cloud checks for the same monitor. you should choose either cloud or local consistently not use both of them.

If I use local, will it send me notifications to my email or I have to manually use the same desktop check from time to time?

Thanks

local monitors can send alerts via all supported notification channels.
