Sounds on push notification on the app isn't allowing me to change it from the default setting

the sounds on my push notifications in the app can no longer be changed? it remains on the default setting. How can i change to one of the other sounds? after i change it there is no save button? There was a new update for the iphone. Does that have anything to do with it? Again, every time i try to change to another sound for my push notifications on the app, it doesn’t stay .Goes back to the default?
