Route Distill Alerts into a different email by altering Labels

Hello,

I currently have around 200 monitors in Distill, and I have organized them using four labels: Label 1, Label 2, Label 3, and Label 4.

At the moment, the email notification setup is:

  • Label 1 + Label 4 → Email Address A

  • Label 2 + Label 3 → Email Address B

I now want to change the setup to:

  • Label 1 + Label 2 → Email Address A

  • Label 3 + Label 4 → Email Address B

Since there are around 200 monitors, I don’t want to open and edit the notification settings for each monitor individually.

Is there a way to bulk update the email notification/recipient settings based on the existing monitor labels? Ideally, I would like to select a label and change the email recipient for all monitors under that label at once.

Please let me know if Distill supports this functionality or if there is another way to achieve this without manually editing each monitor.

@srimathi.venkatachal Yes, you can do this using Batch Edit.

In your new setup, Label 1 and Label 3 already stay with the same email addresses, so you only need to update:

  • Label 4 from Email Address A to Email Address B

  • Label 2 from Email Address B to Email Address A

For Label 4:

  1. In the Watchlist, click Label 4 from the labels list on the left side. This will show only monitors under Label 4.

  2. Select all monitors shown for Label 4.

  3. Click Batch Edit.

  4. Go to Actions.

  5. Choose Remove All to remove the existing email action.

  6. Then click Batch Edit again.

  7. Go to Actions → Add.

  8. From Add Action, choose Email and add Email Address B.

Then repeat the same process for Label 2, but add Email Address A instead.

So for Label 2:

  1. Filter the Watchlist by Label 2.

  2. Select all Label 2 monitors.

  3. Use Batch Edit → Actions → Remove All.

  4. Then use Batch Edit → Actions → Add.

  5. Add the email action with Email Address A.

This should let you update the notification recipients in bulk without opening each monitor individually.
