No auditory notification anymore

The system still notices changes properly, but it doesn’t alert me with an auditory signal like it did in the past.

I am not hearing any “ping” anymore.

My loudspeakers are on, sounds are enabled from my system… but distill.io doesn’t play a sound no more.

@flulrich Thanks for the details.

Just to clarify — are you seeing alerts in the Change History with a bell icon, or are they showing as slashed bell icons?

This is important because:

  • Sound notifications are only triggered for alerts (bell icon)

  • If you’re seeing slashed bell icons, it means changes are being detected but no alert is triggered (often due to conditions set on the monitor)

In such cases, Distill will not play any sound.

Could you confirm what you’re seeing? That will help narrow this down.

Hi Srijith, thanks for the reply. I am indeed seeing a bell icon, not a slashed icon.

@flulrich Thanks for confirming. Let’s verify a few things:

  1. Under Actions of the monitor, confirm that “Audio Notification” is added.

    • Next to the audio name, there is a “Play” button — when you click it, do you hear the sound?

  2. Which browser extension are you using?

    • Please ensure you’re using the latest version of Chrome or Edge extension.

  3. Has the audio notification worked before and stopped recently, or has it never worked?

  4. On the extension Watchlist Dashboard:

    • Go to Settings → Device → Actions

    • Make sure Audio Notification is enabled there

Please check these and let me know your findings.

That did the trick! Thanks. It needs to be activated when starting the plugin.
