New/Updated Monitors Not Running/Reflecting Changes

Since yesterday I’ve noticed issues with any and all new/updated monitors I’ve engaged with.

  • Changes to monitors are not being reflected
    • For instance, with one specific monitor I changed both the title and the config. Despite these changes, the email results I receive continue to contain the old title and utilize the old config format.
  • New monitors refuse to run (ie, history does not populate at all)
    • Even duplicating preexisting monitors which run without issue, the duplicated monitor would never be run.

Everything was fine until the other day when these issues suddenly appeared, so I can only assume this is a server side issue. Just thinking aloud here, but could this be related to the recent cloudfare network issues and subsequent migration?

are you running the monitor in the cloud or using a local device? from what i can see, servers are working fine after the last cloudflare downtime.

if it is a local monitor, the problem could be specific to the device. have you tried restarting the device that is assigned to run the monitor?

Sorry, I should’ve specified that originally. This is pertaining to a local monitor. Even after clearing cookies, restarting the browser, and restarting the computer itself, the watchlist of the local device’s browser extension (Chrome, updated to latest version) would still not reflect any changes made to it elsewhere. It’s as if there is now a complete disconnect between the browser extension on this device and the rest of the network. So it makes sense that newly created monitors won’t run because the extension doesn’t see them as existing to begin with.

Note that this issue cannot be replicated on a different device. It is specific to this one device (and possibly specific browser/browser extension).

EDIT- Even after deleting the device itself it continues to run checks regardless, which would seem to support my theory of a disconnect.

@shadowmoses Thanks for the detailed update — that’s very helpful, and it definitely sounds like there’s a sync issue between the Distill extension and your local device. To resolve this I would recommend fully reinstalling the Distill browser extension. This should re-establish a clean connection and allow the extension to properly sync with your account and watchlist.
