Other macros are working i.e. a play button appears when you apply it to this same monitor.
Creating a new monitor and applying the problematic macro, still doesn’t make it work.
When you look at the macro, it looks to be set up the same as other macros (we can’t see what might be missing/causing the issue). It has same type of recorded steps as the other example macro tested above.
@smokeballaulp Thanks for the detailed explanation and screenshots — that really helps.
We spent some time trying to reproduce this on our side based on your description and here’s what we’ve observed so far:
We first suspected this might be a layout or UI issue (for example, related to long monitor names), but we weren’t able to reproduce the problem that way.
We also checked whether the macro might have no recorded steps, but from what you’ve shared, the macro does contain recorded steps, so that doesn’t seem to be the issue either.
In our testing, the only scenario where the Play icon does not appear in the webpage selector is when no macro is selected at all for the monitor.
Since other macros are working correctly on the same monitor, this suggests the issue is likely specific to this particular macro rather than the monitor or selector itself.
As a next step, could you please try:
Creating a new macro from scratch for this site
Saving it and then explicitly selecting that new macro in the monitor settings
Opening the webpage selector again to see if the Play button appears
This will help confirm whether the issue is tied to that macro’s internal state. If the newly created macro works, we can safely rule out a broader issue and focus on why the original macro isn’t being picked up.
Let us know how it goes, and we’ll continue digging if needed.
Thank you that helped! I deleted the current macro, recreated it and re-assigned but it wasn’t working. It was I think somehow still recognising the deleted macro. I renamed the new macro and re-assigned it to the monitor and it then worked! yay! now I renamed it back and it still working - all solved.
