I’m trying to set up alerts on this page but appears Distill is not matching products, is this because the items are changing on the pages and is matching up with another product? also can this be fixed? web page https://www.chaoscards.co.uk/search/pokemon?npp=64 Also why is it I’m setting a 20% discount rule and then just does what it wants?
@gillott, can you share more details about what you are trying to achieve. what i understand from the screenshot is that items are most likely changing their position or new items are appearing on the page.
when monitoring a list of items that is constantly changing, sorting the list so that the items are listed in a fixed order can help a lot.
do you need to get an alert when an item’s price decreases by 20% or, when discount for an item increases to be more than 20%?
So like filter page from high to low? 2nd question - I need a notification when price has been discounted 20% or more. Does Distill have trouble when pages are showing RRP/and sale price next to the actual? Or do you just think it’s because the changing of the page is affecting the rules? Cheers.
Just don’t see how Distill can detect items reduced in price if the pages are contantly changing and messing up all the results? Like I know single items page would work right? but when setting up alerts on a page of let’s say 50 results it just gets messed up? Am I right in thinking that?
The software is rubbish, even when you click on a single page it doesn’t even work!! it just pings the current price over and over when it shouldn’t. Take this page for example https://www.studio.co.uk/game-games-overwatch-2--reaper-965947#colcode=96594790 here i click on a part of the page to monitor and use these conditions and it keeps pinging saying there is a reduction so clearly not conflicting with other items on pages as this is a single page product, I was gonna buy this but doesn’t even work?
Can someone address this? or should I email?
monitoring a specific part of the page is one of the better ways to monitor such pages.
a notification is triggered only when a change is detected and the conditions match (if added). can you share a screenshot of the change history of the monitor that is tracking changes to the price? it will show the notifications statuses and help figure out how conditions match or don’t match. check out:
Ok so here i want to monitor a page and detect price drops, I have ordered the page low to high and I’m using TEXT-Notify me if price drops -30%, however it just pings random bits
of txt on the page which hasn’t even changed!! Here is the web page https://www.studio.co.uk/searchresults?descriptionfilter=pokemon#dcp=1&dppp=59&OrderBy=price_asc&Filter=1147_5209403^Toys and screenshots of the conditions and results I get.
All I want to do is detect a price drop on a page without it picking up loads of other stuff and ideally to pick up new items, seems impossible.
monitoring the search result page for price drop won’t work well. there will be notifications because of changes in positions or changes in unwanted numbers.
a search result page is most commonly monitored to get alerted about a new item coming back to stock.
monitoring the product detail page is the way to go for monitoring changes to the product’s price.
So are you saying there’s no way to detect price drops on a page of numerous items efficiently? Ok so here I am using a basic condition of TEXT + % reduces 30% or more, here is one of the results. As you can see it has detected some price changes however it has not followed the 30% condition, any reason why? Also, when selecting prices elements to monitor on full pages will it be easier to just include all the products on the page as it’s a bit tricky to view with missing bullet points, is there a way to number them because I’m having to count down and up to match the item up. Cheers.
