Hi, I am currently monitoring around 15 sites and I am using the web extension which only allows me to scan concurrently for 10 websites. Does it scan all the webpages, what is the 10 workers doing? Is it possible to increase it? How to ensure all sites are screened?
Yes, the maximum number of concurrent workers per device is 10. This means if you’re monitoring several pages at faster intervals, only 10 checks will run at once (based on your concurrent worker setting). The rest will wait in a queue until their turn.
Does it scan all the webpages?
You can check the check-log to see exactly when each monitor was last checked.
Can I increase the limit?
The concurrent worker limit can’t be increased, but you can set up additional devices. For example, use the Distill browser extension on another browser or the desktop app. This lets you distribute your monitors across multiple devices.
Just note that performance might slow down if too many checks are run at once, since each one uses system resources.
Hi Raksha thanks for the answer but I have a follow up question. Lets say I use the extension on two different browsers. Then how do I organize the tracking? If I have 15 sites to track and each browser can only do max 10, then can I organize them like 5+10? One browser only scans 5 and the other only scans 10?
yes, you should be able to split in any way to need to. that being said, i won’t recommend running too many concurrent checks for an extended period of time due to multiple reasons.
it will consume lots of resources on your computer that can slow things down.
if all monitors check the same site, you will be generating too many requests to the same site. this can add extra load on the server. sites can block requests from a network if they see that requests are being sent for a longer period of time. it should not be a concern if the monitors are for different websites.
so please be judicious and responsible in how you use the available tools and resources. thanks!
“you should be able to split in any way to need to” - for this, should I change the settings on which device is scanning the websites? Because I dont know how to split it because it is all in one list for me at the moment when I open the web extension and watchlist.
