HELP can't see website updates from more than a week ago

URGENT I’m using the information I track from Distill for my honors thesis (tracking changes on government websites), but every single time I check, I can only see changes from the past week. The trackers have been active for the past 2 months, and I’ve screenshotted some stuff, luckily, but not everything. I pay for Distill as well. What can I do? I’m monitoring the entire web page, using the cloud, and have it set to run every 6 hours. PLEASE HELP ASAP!!

@danidanidani the number of versions stored for a page in a premium is either 10 or 20 depending on the plan[1]:

when a new version is added, the older version exceeding the limit is deleted automatically. once a version a version is deleted, it is no longer available in the app.

distill regularly backups the database. the oldest backup we have is from 10 days ago. if you need data for a specific monitor, feel free to dm me. i can help get those from the backup and share them with you.

you can also try getting older snapshots from archive.org. it could be a hit of a miss depending on when the pages were archived.

as you need to save more versions pages, some options are:

  1. setup an email alert for the monitors. the mailbox can serve as an archive that can store any number of past records.
  2. finetune the selections to exclude noisy parts of page (like timestamps) that are not important for tracking. that way only important versions are saved in the change history.
  3. save each version of the page automatically to a spreadsheet. here is an article on how to do this: How to save web page changes in Google Sheets? – Distill
  4. use https://archive.is/ to automatically archive a version as soon as a change is detected by distill

let me know if you need help with any of the above.

[1] custom archiving options are available in enterprise plans

omg, thank you so much for your help!! stupid question…how do I DM on here?
