notice that when the page is loaded to be checked for changes, the “lowest price” tab is the default. a macro is needed to click the “best seats” tab on the page in order to monitor that section. check out: Macro: Record and Replay Automated Actions – Distill
sure, no problem. one of the tricky things i noticed is that the site is blocking requests when using the remote browser to record the macro. let me know if you need help creating the macro. i can create one manually and share with you. cheers!
Hello, it seems that the macro monitor is no longer working. I even upgraded to professional level to select the different prox server, but still getting these error messages all day. Appreciate any help to get this resolved. THank you
the ticketing sites tend to block connections a lot. using a custom proxy is a common requirement for these when using cloud. have you used local monitoring to see how it works?
Ok I think I figured out using macro with the desktop app. but now getting this error. When I ran the macro on it’s own, it worked fine. all steps completed.
but now when I added to the monitor, it says its timing out.
ajitk, I know you offered to make a macro the other day. At this point i’m really frustrated, and willing to try your macro or any other options to get this to work Thank you for your help
can you share export the macro you have created and share that here with me? i will check it out and let you know. this most likely could be a problem with the site blocking access.
Ok, I just turned monitoring back on, and right away I get error message. I had turned it off last night, awaiting your reply. Hence the last error was at 9:08pm.
thanks for checking and sharing the updates. the logs shows a mix of click failures and wait_doc failures because the page didn’t load.
suspecting that something odd is happening in the way the page loaded in my case and not yours, i experimented after clearing site data under app’s “settings > advanced”. click started to fail because the page stopped loading. this indicates that it has something to do with cookies or local storage.
then i took the following steps after with it started working again:
clear browsing data by going to “settings > advanced”. nav menu to settings can be accessed by clicking the cog icon in the bottom left corner.
go back to watchlist.
click the monitor’s link in the watchlist. it will open the page in the app’s browser window.
my guess is that cookies set in the 3rd step helps load the page correctly in subsequent attempts. can you try these out too and see if it makes any difference?
Thank you.for the suggestion. I cleared the browsing data, and went back to refersh monitor, and still gettging same result. this is using desktop app.
but when i click on the watchlist link, it opens up the page correctly as you stated.
this must be so frustrating. i can’t figure out why it is not working in this instance. it worked well today for me.
i had high hopes that the desktop app will work for you. i will ask the team to see if we can make it work in cloud. if we do, we will make it easier to set it up. will post an update soon. cheers!
Appreciate the support. I think I got it figured out. I’m now using the edge browser extension and instead of selecting the entire best seats tab, I selected specific individual seats. So far this seems to be working since last night.
Just to confirm, if there is no price changes, I will not receive an alert? Is that correcf?
a change alert is triggered only if change in monitored content is found. if you are only monitoring price and it doesn’t change, no change alert will be triggered.
