I have been a paid customer for a little while now, but upon my return to pay for another month, I find the scanner is not working as it used to?
Firstly, I could only select your cloud server as the device. I couldn’t see my local devices, and when I go to select the shift page to check for changes, Distill is showing me the login page even though I had already logged in.
I’m also not seeing the ‘last checked’ time stamp for the scans under my monitor.
Could someone please email me directly so we can resolve this please.
@drclaymore From your description, I suspect you were previously running the monitor using the Distill Chrome extension, and that the extension may no longer be enabled or signed in correctly.
Could you please check the following:
Click on the Distill Chrome extension icon in your browser.
Verify that:
Monitoring is enabled.
You are signed in to your Distill account.
If you’re not signed in, please click Sign In and log in to your account. If monitoring is disabled, please enable it.
If you’re still experiencing issues, try the following:
Remove the Distill extension from Chrome.
Reinstall it from the Chrome Web Store.
Sign in to your Distill account again.
Once signed in:
Click the Distill extension.
Select “Go to Watchlist”.
Open the monitor in question.
Change the monitor’s device to “Google Chrome (this device)”.
This should restore local monitoring, allow the monitor to access your logged-in session, and make the monitor logs and “Last Checked” timestamps available again.
If you would prefer not to discuss this on the forum, please let us know how it goes. If the issue persists after trying the above steps, feel free to contact us directly at support@distill.io, and we’ll be happy to assist further.
I was already logged in and monitors were on so I removed the Chrome extension and reinstalled.
I can now see the time stamps again, thank you.
Question about Live Scan, would it work on the above Amazon Jobs website above? The shifts appear on the minute mark so CRON was a great help but if there are other options….
@drclaymore Live Scan is generally not recommended for this use case. Live monitoring is designed for pages that remain open and automatically update their content in real time using JavaScript, without requiring a page refresh. A typical example would be a live auction page or a dashboard that updates continuously while you’re viewing it.
For the Amazon Jobs website, available shifts are typically published on the server and become visible when the page is refreshed or reloaded. In that scenario, Interval or Cron Tab schedules are usually more effective than Live Scan.
Since you’ve mentioned that shifts appear on specific minute marks, Cron Tab is likely the best option because it allows you to schedule checks at precise times. For example, if shifts commonly appear at the top of the hour or at specific minutes, you can configure checks to run exactly at those times rather than relying on a fixed interval.
If Amazon is releasing shifts at known times (for example, on the hour or every 30 minutes), I would recommend continuing with Cron Tab. If the release times are less predictable, you could use a short Interval schedule instead.
