I have two monitors created and each will work fine if only one of them is enabled. I am using a free license to test the app. I looked at the pricing summary and it looks like the free version should be able to run up to 25 at a time. I have the polling interval set to 1 hour for one monitor and 4 hours for the other. Am I somehow overstepping the free license limitations or is this something else?
Hi, thanks for the reply. It’s basically what I mentioned above. I have created two monitors, both monitoring Amazon pages. One was created from a duplicate of the other with different query string parameters. When they are both enabled (ON vs. OFF), only the most recently enabled monitor actually runs at the specified interval. I am only using email notifications, since this is running on an unattended server. Both work fine when only one of them is enabled.
@abocz Thanks for your patience, and let’s walk through a few things together to better understand what might be happening.
Just to clarify — in Distill, notifications are only triggered when a change is detected in the selected element(s) being monitored. So, if one monitor didn’t find any change during its check, it would appear inactive even though it’s actually running as expected.
Since you mentioned one monitor is a duplicate of the other (with a different query string), it’s worth checking:
Are both monitors watching the same elements or sections of the page?
Could it be that only one of them had a detectable change, and the other didn’t?
To verify this, we recommend checking the Check/Error Logs for each monitor. This will show whether the monitor actually ran at its scheduled time, and if there were any errors. You can follow the steps here: https://distill.io/docs/web-monitor/troubleshooting-missing-alerts/
Let us know what you find in the logs, and if anything looks off, feel free to share screenshots.
