Checking errors on different devices

Hi there! We use Distill on multiple devices (professional plan) but we have some checking problems, meaning that the syncing is done properly only on one local device. If this local device is turned off, than the other devices encounter errors in syncing. We have switched for each device the location (both cloud/server and local), but we still have problems. The browser we use is Edge. Thank you in advance!

@portant by “syncing”, do you mean how monitors are checked for changes or how data is synced across multiple devices in the account?

Hi! Thank you for the prompt reply. For example, if the local device is turned off, than the two other devices won’t get any updates (changes for the monitors) in Distill, just errors. If the first device is running, then the other work too.

got it. to clarify, there are two important concepts to understand:

  1. checks - a check occurs when distill opens a page to detect changes. checks can be performed either by your local device or by distill’s cloud servers. for more details, see: Local Monitor vs. Cloud Monitor – Distill

  2. sync - captured changes are automatically synchronized across all devices signed into your account.

it’s important to note that monitors are configured to run on a specific device. that device must be powered on and running for those monitors to check for changes. if your primary device is offline, you have the flexibility to assign the monitors to another active device to ensure uninterrupted monitoring.
