App slow to load changes. Should I erase all of my past change history to speed up?

I’ve seen my account slowed down on the app lately when loading new changes. I get the alert that I changes occurred. But when I go onto the app, sometimes it takes five or 10 seconds for the newest change to show. This used to never happen before, so I’m thinking maybe it has something to do with a long history of changes that is being loaded. Or maybe it has nothing to do with it. But I thought I would give it a try. Thanks

@astumacher thanks for reporting the issue. what app are you using? in general deleting the monitors and adding them back should not affect the performance.

I’m Using the Distill app

i meant if it is the desktop or a mobile app.

I’m using mobile app

got it. network speed is the main factor affecting the sync speed on the mobile phones. the watchlist is usually updated automatically within a couple of seconds.

is this delay observed when going to the watchlist (the list of all monitors) or when viewing a monitor’s changes?

Only when viewing a monitors changes. When I click into that specific monitor, it will show the previous change, and will take some time 10 seconds or so to load. Doesn’t happen all the time, but seems to happen more with the older monitors

i see. it is possible that an old monitor that hasn’t been viewed for some time is taking time to sync data (upto 20) in some cases and that could take time. can you check if this time taken also depends on data size? for example, if a monitor is monitoring a smaller part of page, its change history should load faster compared to a monitor where a bigger part of the page is being monitored.

Oh yes. That makes sense. They are larger ones. Thank you.

I am having a similar issue where my monitors are running on the desktop app and I will get an alert popup on my computer but it will sometimes be 5-10 seconds before my alert hits my ios app and notifies me. This delay seems to be recent as I am often sitting at my computer with my phone and I remember them pinging near real-time previously(and my monitors are essentially the same).

@settleup the issue mentioned by @astumacher is about time taken to load highlighted changes for an old monitor.

time taken to receive the push notification depends on multiple factors how responsive apple’s push notification system is or how well is the device charged and connected. it depends on multiple factors that change with time. can you try running an experiment to see if the 5-10s delay in receiving reduces in off peak hours?
