Unfortunately, I am unable to solve the following task:

- On the homepage of a stock exchange, a key figure changes from time to time, and I would like to be notified when this happens.

- Since I have to be logged in to the stock exchange to retrieve this information, I am dependent on the capabilities of the Edge plugin.

- This key figure rarely changes, but when it does, I need to know as soon as possible and would also like to have key figures that were relevant at the time of triggering in the notification.

So I would need to be able to set some selectors to “observe only” and only one to “trigger.” How do I do that?

all selected content is monitored for changes. one possible option is to use condition to get alerts only when the criteria is met. this depends on the content. let me know what you think.

Conditions would be fine for me, but as long as I can’t set up a condition for a specific value but for the whole output, I don’t have an idea where to start. Is there a kind of option to have a condition looking for changes between two keywords?

you can do this with a **regex filter** in **distill** to focus only on the number or key figure you need to get alerted on.

here’s what you can do:

1. select the elements that you want to monitor as well as other element that are key.
2. use a **regex filter** to filter the text down to the one that you need to monitor for changes.

for example:
if the page shows something like:

```auto
old: 13,331.01 pts
current: 15,438.27 pts
```

you can use a regex like this:

```auto
current:\s*(\d*(?:,\d*)*(?:\.\d+)?)
```

this tells distill to watch only the number (like `15,438.27`) that appears after `current:`. you’ll get a notification only when that number changes, but you’ll still see the full element in the **visual diff** view so you know what changed.

note that `(\d*(?:,\d*)*(?:\.\d+)?)` is the regex to match a number.

this setup is super handy when you’re tracking something that only moves once in a while and can be filtered for monitoring using a regex.
