# Monitor Jumped From 500 Checks Per Day to 10,000?

For months the daily usage averaged between 500-600 checks per day, then on April 4 it increased to over 5,000 checks in a day, and since April 5 it has been running over 10,000 checks a day, now claiming to have used all 100,000 checks for the month. I did not change any settings so I am not sure what could have caused this. How do I get my check usage back to normal?

the number of checks in an account depends on two things: check interval and time taken by each check.

what is the average check interval for the monitors in the watchlist and number of monitors being checked for changes?
